My Neighborhood
Lake Hogan Farms, Chapel Hill
We moved to Chapel Hill, North Carolina in 2003 from Manchester, England for what we thought was going to be a 2 year adventure for our family. In 2005 we had to decide whether to go back to England but our two children had settled so well we were reluctant to move them again. We had also met so many wonderful people, enjoyed the fabulous lifestyle, culture and environment of North Carolina that we decided to take a small risk and stay.
The final clincher for us was that, in North Carolina, we knew that if we planned a weekend cook-out it would happen – not such a sure bet in Manchester!
We considered a number of the great communities around the Triangle for a new home and we chose a property in Lake Hogan Farms, as we loved the topography, the range of home types, superb communal facilities and proximity to the Elementary, Middle and High Schools.
Lake Hogan Farms, a former dairy farm, is a 300 acre community of single family homes and townhouses within the jurisdiction of the Town of Carrboro but with a Chapel Hill address. It has the following amenities:
- Community Clubhouse
- Play and Swimming Pool
- Basketball Court
- Tennis Courts
- Children's Playground
- Walking and Biking Trails
- 12 Acre Lake
